The 1993 Chardonnay Reserve Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is tightly-structured, as well as exceptionally rich and mouthfilling, with a layered palate, full body, and rich, mineral, honeyed, citrusy fruit flavors nicely complemented by smoky oak. Long, intense, and pure, this is an impressively large-scaled Chardonnay that is just beginning to blossom. Look for it to age gracefully for 4-5 years. Au Bon Climat's 1993 Chardonnays are all structured, tightly knit but promising, concentrated wines that can be drunk now, although they will blossom further with another 4-6 months of bottle age.
