(from a relatively cool site on the extreme eastern side of the appellation, picked literally three weeks later in 2003 than some of Ribera del Duero's hotter spots) Ruby-red. Sappy, spicy aromas of black fruits and tar. Sweet, dense and strong, with powerful flavors of blackberry and dusty minerality firmed by slightly edgy acidity. Expands impressively on the back half, finishing with substantial dusty tannins and excellent length.
