Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint Marc, which was bottled under DIAM, has a sophisticated, mineral-driven bouquet that is detailed and focused, almost Puligny-like in style. I like the slight reduction here. The palate is clean and fresh on the entry. The oak is well integrated here and it fans out with a confident lemongrass and stem ginger-infused finish that is just very Chassagne-like. Excellent. Tasted May 2016.
