Last Tasted 11/91
While the 1983 Clos Vougeot is not as concentrated as Roumier's compelling 1983 Bonnes Mares, it is an admirable success in this tricky vintage. Earthy, spicy, animal-like aromas are intermingled with scents of super-ripe, jammy fruits. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, with moderate tannin, plenty of depth and concentration, and a clean, heady finish. Drink it between 1994-2005.
