Among the grands crus, there is a massive, highly extracted, superb Clos de Vougeot. Full-bodied, with plenty of glycerin, alcohol, and tannic clout, this backward wine's profound potential will be seen even by neophytes. Do not touch a bottle for at least 6-7 years; it should last for 20. The wines of this famed domaine, long known for its classic old style burgundies, do indeed improve with cellaring.
