The 1999 Barolo, the regular bottling, with much chocolate, minerals, and tar in the nose, shows good power and length but a somewhat tannic structure and some hardness of texture. Fantastic aromas of plums, roses and fresh cedar. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and beautiful fruit. It goes on and on. I like it better than some of Azelia's single-vineyard wines.
