The medium to full-bodied 2000 Pinot Noir Finn is a brilliant effort. The wine exhibits sweet floral, black cherry, and raspberry fruit notes along with earth, spice, and a hint of new oak (57% new oak is utilized). It comes across as a restrained yet forceful, powerful, intellectual Pinot that will provide additional pleasure and nuances after time in the bottle. Impressive! This is a strong effort, but like all of DuMol's offerings it is restrained and builds incrementally, as opposed to being a showy, flamboyant, sexy fruit bomb. Don't misunderstand me.
