Check out the 1993 Zinfandel Dusi Ranch, with its "conservative" 15.9% alcohol level. One would expect some fire and heat in the mouth, as well as late harvest character, but neither is present in this enormously-extracted, full-bodied, unctuously-textured, spicy wine that lays on the fruit as if it were icing on a cake. A skyscraper of a wine, it is a tremendously rich, fun Zinfandel that will provide a thrill a second for at least the next 7-8 years. Once again an impressive line-up has been released by one of California's leading Zinfandel producers. Kudos to Paul Draper for his marvelous array of expressive, full throttle Zinfandels. Tel.
