The 2005 AlfaSpiga was aged in new, mostly French oak for 18 months. It offers up a complex aromatic array of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, violets, and blackberry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with outstanding volume, loads of spicy fruit, excellent balance, and enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years.
