Ridge owns the Lytton Estate, from which it has produced two interesting Rhone Ranger wines. One of these, the 1996 Syrah Lytton Estate was blended with 5% Viognier, and tips the scales at 14.2% alcohol. The Viognier was vinified with the Syrah, resulting in a richly fruity (blackberries and currants), lush, round, hedonistically-styled wine with low acidity, and a plump, savory character.
