A solid white, Brotte’s 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hauts de Barville Blanc is made from 65% Grenache, 20% Roussanne, 10% Clairette and 5% Bourboulenc (all from the calcaire soils located west of the village) that was brought up in stainless steel. Medium-bodied, juicy, pure and lean, it offers impressive citrus blossom, white flowers, lychee and tinges of salty minerality that continue to evolve and change in the glass. Lively and fresh, it leans toward the more focused end of the spectrum and shows the vintage nicely. Drink it over the coming 3-4 years.
