Delas's fruit-driven 2019 Ventoux is a luscious—if somewhat simple—bowl of cherries and red berries. Medium to full-bodied, it offers ample textural interest in the form of ripe, velvety tannins, then hints at savory black olives on the finish. A perennial value, this vintage is another winner and should continue to drink well for another few years.

This Northern Rh?ne-based firm has a history in Ventoux going back more than 25 years and can usually be counted on to produce good values that are delicious young. The 2018 Ventoux is a little softer and less concentrated than the best vintages, but it boasts an attractive mix of black cherry and black olive flavors, a supple, medium-bodied feel in the mouth and a gently dusty finish that shows just enough structure to accompany pizza, burgers and the like.

Delas has done a good job with their Ventoux over the years, and the 2017 Ventoux is perhaps their best yet. It offers hints of concrete dust or crushed stone layered over subtle cherry aromas. The unoaked 80-20 blend of Grenache and Syrah is medium-bodied, with a velvety feel and dried spices and Bing cherries on the silky finish. At the suggested retail of $11, it's a screaming bargain.

Now labeled just as Ventoux, this has always been a superb value in the Delas lineup. The medium-bodied 2015 Cotes du Ventoux is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah that never sees oak. Bold black cherry fruit flavors are complemented by hints of olive, espresso and cracked pepper, finishing dry and savory.
