The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières exhibits notes of pear, freshly baked bread, nutmeg and buttery pasty, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate that's racy and precise but a touch less textural and voluminous than Boyer's Charmes, concluding with a penetrating finish.

The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is open and charming, bursting with aromas of mandarin, peach, pear and white flowers, framed by a deft touch of praline. Medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, with a satiny attack and lively acids, it's one of the most demonstrative wines in the range.

The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières has a relatively simple bouquet with light tropical tones intermingling with flecks of white chocolate and almond. The palate is ripe on the entry and feels very ripe, needing more tension and acidic drive. The finish is clean but a tad "fluffy." I loved the 2015 Genevrières, but the follow-up does not reach those heights because of the growing season rather than any shortcomings by the winemaker.

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières has a superior bouquet compared to the Meursault Charmes. Here I discerned more mineralité and complexity in the glass, attractive scents of yellow flowers, citrus fruit and walnut profiting from aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, impressive tension and quite elegant towards the lightly spiced finish. This is well worth seeking out.

The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres has a very perfumed bouquet with heady scents of citrus lemon, orange zest, dried mango and white peach. It becomes more and more intense with each swirl. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity. It does not quite build on the promise of the nose like some other Genevrieres ‘13s tasted during my trip, although there is an attractive lemongrass note lingering on the aftertaste.
