The 2012 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard Haute Densité is superb, displaying more depth and structure, as well as more aromatic precision, than its lovely, slightly honeyed regular cuvée counterpart. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, pear and nectarine mingled with notions of freshly baked bread, dried white flowers, iodine and bread dough, it's full-bodied, ample and concentrated, with a rich and enveloping core of fruit, racy acids and a long, saline finish.
