The 2009 Amarone della Valpolicella is a blend of 60% Corvina and Corvinone, 35% Rondinella and 5% Molinara aged for two years in botte grande. The wine paints a pretty picture of the vintage with firm tannins and a velvety mouthfeel. Thick extraction is followed by ripe berry and candied cherry flavors. Drink 2015-2022.
A powerhouse force in its native Veneto, the Zonin family once owned vineyards in Valpolicella. That property was sold, and today Zonin sources fruit for its popular Amarone and Ripasso.
