The 1992 Chassagne-Montrachet-Les Vergers is the most tightly knit and backward of Amiot's three premier cru Chassagnes. It possesses higher acidity than the other two wines, but shares with them the same power, richness, and intensity. It needs another year in the bottle, after which it should keep for 7-10. While impressively endowed, it is not as flattering and dramatic as the Clos St.-Jean and Les Caillerets. Since 1989 the Domaine Amiot-Bonfils has catapulted to the top echelon of quality. This estate produced excellent, even stunning 1989s, excellent 1990s, and sensational 1992s.Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA.
