(raised in new and used French and American oak for 13 months): Bright violet color. Spice- and smoke-accented dark berry and cherry aromas pick up a suggestion of pipe tobacco with air. Supple, sweet and densely packed, offering bitter cherry and blackberry flavors and a refreshing jolt of cracked pepper on the back half. Supple tannins give shape to the energetic, spicy finish.
