There are some exciting new Pinot Noirs emerging from Adelsheim. The 1993 Pinot Noir Ridge Crest Vineyard (a spring, 1995 release) looks to be a knock-out example from this vineyard located on the Ribbon Ridge not far from the Adelsheim winery. The wine exhibits a saturated dark ruby/purple color, a super nose of black fruits, smoke, earth, and vanillin, wonderfully textured, multidimensional flavors, deep, ripe, black-cherry and black-raspberry fruit, and a long, harmonious, silky finish. This should be an early candidate for one of the top 1993 Oregon Pinot Noirs.The quality of Dave Adelsheim's wines continues to move from strength to strength.
