Quintarelli is the master winemaker behind the artisanally-made, gloriously rich wines of Valpolicella. He makes a tiny quantity of late-harvested, extremely rich, concentrated 100% Cabernet Franc. For the record, Quintarelli has just released the 1988 Valpolicella Classico, which may seem frightfully expensive at $20 for a Valpolicella, but just taste it. I have drunk three bottles, all pushing 90 points in score. It is an amazing Valpolicella to drink over the next 5-6 years.
