The 2006 Barbaresco Reyna is quite pretty and delicate in its perfumed red fruit, flowers and spices. The tannins are firm yet well-balanced, and the wine shows many of the qualities that make Barbaresco such an appealing expression of Nebbiolo. The accessible, mid-weight 2006 Barbaresco Reyna is an excellent choice for near-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016. Here’s a wine that holds its own in a ranking of top Nebbiolos. There’s depth and great promise of fruit here, which is wrapped within folds of vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and dusty mineral.
