The 2009 Barbaresco Reyna is a decidedly big, large-scaled wine. Despite its size, the 2009 has maintained plenty of richness. The sheer fleshiness of the fruit makes the 2009 quite attractive, even today. Hints of tobacco, crushed flowers and anise are layered into the textured, inviting finish. There is more than enough fruit to balance the Nebbiolo tannins, which is not the case with all 2009s, especially at the entry level. Sweet floral notes linger on the textured, inviting finish.
