Since the last time I tasted this wine in 1984 it has nearly collapsed. The dark ruby/amber at the edge has changed to medium ruby with plenty of rust. The wine's nose has begun to dry out, displaying old barrel and herbaceous, musty, fruit flavors. In the mouth, the wine is high in acidity and tannins, and has lost nearly all of its fruit. This was once a wonderfully supple, big, tasty, corpulent wine, but it has now gone into serious decline. Last tasted, 1/91.
